Backing up your website using cPanel

  1. Go to www.yoursitedomain.com/cpanel

  1. Enter the user name and password which you have received from us to login to your website Cpanel account.

  1. Click on the Backup wizard icon which you can find under Files table

  1. You will have an option to create a backup or restore the backup version on this page. If you havent created any backups, click on Backup button as shown below.

  1. You will be asked to take a full or partial backup on this page.  We suggest you to take a full backup incase there might be changes in your MySQL databases or email forwarders etc. Click

 

  1. Select Home Directory under Backup Destination drop down and enter the email address where you want to receive an email after the backup has completed.  Please make sure you use correct email address.  Once done, click on Generate Backup button.

  1. Backup file will be created under your home directory.

  1. Once the full backup of your account has been completed you will receive an email message to the email address you specified. You should also save a copy of the backup on your local hard drive so you can upload the backup incase you lost data from your web hosting account.
     
  2. If you want to restore a backup on your hosting account, log back to your website Cpanel using above steps 1 and 2 and click on Backup button which you can find under Files table.

  1. Browse the backup file from your local hard drive and click on Upload button to restore the backup. Please use home directory backup to restore home directory and MySQL database backup to restore MySQL databases.

  1. Congratulations - you have successfully completed your back up :)
